Returns, Exchanges & Cancellation

Archival — Clothing That Ages Well.

At Archival, we want every order to arrive as expected. This policy explains when an exchange may be requested and what to expect if something goes wrong.

1. Returns & Exchanges

Archival offers a 7-day exchange window on eligible products.

To be eligible for an exchange:

  • The request must be made within 7 days of delivery.
  • The item must be unworn and unwashed, with original tags still attached.
  • The item should be returned in its original packaging where possible.
  • You'll need your order number (or the email/phone used at checkout) as proof of purchase.
  • Sale and introductory-price items are eligible for exchange on the same terms as full-price items.
  • Items that are washed, altered, or damaged after delivery through normal use are not eligible.

What an exchange means: we'll replace your item with the same product in a different size. If that size isn't in stock, we'll offer store credit of equal value for a future order. We don't currently offer exchanges for a different product or design — size (or colour, where applicable) only.

2. How to Request an Exchange

  1. Email support@thearchival.store or message us on WhatsApp at +91 97739 21425 within 7 days of delivery.
  2. Include your order number and the size/colour you'd like instead.
  3. We'll confirm eligibility within 1–2 business days.
  4. Ship the original item back to the address we provide.
  5. Once we receive and inspect it, your replacement ships within 2–3 business days.

Shipping: we don't currently offer reverse pickup. You're responsible for the return shipping cost; we cover shipping the replacement back to you. No additional exchange fee applies.

3. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Orders

If your order arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or incomplete, email support@thearchival.store or WhatsApp +91 97739 21425 within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the product and packaging. An unboxing video is recommended and may be requested for disputed claims.

Please don't dispose of, wash, or alter the item before we've confirmed next steps.

  • Damaged or defective product: free replacement, or a full refund if a replacement isn't available.
  • Wrong product sent: we'll send the correct item and arrange return of the incorrect one at our cost.
  • Missing item: shipped at no extra cost, or refunded if unavailable.

4. Refunds

Refunds apply only to damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing items as described in Section 3, and to cases where an exchange size genuinely isn't available in stock. Standard preference-based returns (wrong fit, change of mind) go through the exchange process in Sections 1–2 instead.

  • Method: original payment method for prepaid orders; UPI/bank transfer for COD orders.
  • Deductions: none, for confirmed damaged/defective/wrong/missing cases.
  • Timeline: initiated within 3–5 business days of approval, typically reflecting in your account within 5–7 business days depending on your bank.

5. Order Cancellation

Before dispatch: free to cancel any time before your order ships. Email or WhatsApp us with your order number as soon as possible. Prepaid orders are refunded in full to the original payment method within 3–5 business days.

After dispatch: orders can't be cancelled once shipped. You're welcome to refuse delivery at your doorstep, or request an exchange once you receive it.

Cash on Delivery: COD orders can be cancelled before dispatch the same way, with no payment to refund. Please cancel rather than refusing delivery without notice — repeated no-shows may result in COD being restricted on future orders.

This policy describes Archival's current exchange and cancellation terms. Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
